DAY 2:
Up at 5:30 AM and had breakfast at 6:15 AM. I watched LeRee run around that big cook tent and she knew where everything was. Hope I can remember all that when the time comes. At 7 AM, we began by wrangling the horses and mules. Everybody was assigned a horse to ride. Mine is a black and white paint mare named Voodoo. I'm hoping that's a good sign. We learned how to brush and curry the horses. Then we reviewed the riding saddle and its parts along with the bridle. We then covered how to saddle and adjust the saddles for proper fit.
After lunch we saddled our horses and went on a seven mile trail ride through some beautiful country. I was a little sore after the ride but the scenery was worth it. LeRee wants both cook students in the kitchen to help her with breakfast tomorrow morning.
